A very strong response to our poll last week, which speaks well of the political engagement of our readers, although the result was somewhat strange. Of the1064 respondents, by far the argest group, 46 per cent, said the Liberal Democrats had the strongest policies for manufacturing, with the Conservatives second on 24 per cent. Third came UKIP on 13 per cent, despite several comments asking why they had been included in the poll. The labour party camew fourth on 9 per cent, with the Greens brining up the rear on 2 per cent. Another 6 per centr declined to pick an option.
